Mein Fokus ist der Arbeitsprozess. Der Beginn ist spontan unüberlegt oder auch im Bewußtsein einer gedachten Form. Entscheidend im weiteren Verlauf ist die Dynamik zwischen mir als Handelnden und Betrachter.
Übergänge wie Sehen, Empfinden, Denken, – wie lassen sich diese Prozesse ausloten, wie in meine Arbeit übertragen. Es sind die Spannungen zwischen Fläche / Linie, Farbe / schwarz-weiß, gegenständlich / ungegenständlich.
Das Bild der Außenwelt ist mehrgründig, dies suche ich in meiner Arbeit auszudrücken.
Am Ende der Arbeit stehen für mich Fragen der Spannung und der Provokation. Nicht um ihrer selbst willen, sondern um den Betrachter zum Innehalten und Sehen zu veranlassen.

Hartmut Fenge is searching for order in what he sees and in what life has given him. Not only is this order the goal, but also, the process of painting leads to the image or picture. The paintings can be very different because he himself in the painting process reacts emotionally to the discovered images. One part is rational, one part is emotional. The color is inseparable from the form and the form is looking for the image which is an open question.
His method allows for a lot of feelings because they are always anchored in a structure. When that structure is dominant, the feeling is subdued, when he is secure and the structure defers to the color, the spiritual quality rises in significance. I would say his paintings come very close to his person.

Nach zunächst Beschäftigung mit verschiedenen Malmaterialien Tusche, Dispersion, Acryl, Öl, Alkylharz, Aquarell, etc. und im weiteren dann intensiver Auseinandersetzung mit Farbmalerei und Studium bei Jerry Zeniuk interessieren mich Übergänge und Grenzbereiche.
